Exploring Community and Creativity in ILLUMINATION Publications

Chapter 1: Welcome to Episode #170
Hello, dedicated readers and enthusiastic writers! This is Episode #170, where I present a selection of my favorite articles along with those nominated by our editors and valued readers. Below, you will find links to these pieces following a brief overview of our publication efforts, including updates on publishing, curation, and welcoming new writers.
As a volunteer editor and curator at ILLUMINATION Publications, I help manage stories from over 30,000 writers. My roles include nominating boosts and coordinating media across platforms like Slack, Discord, YouTube, and other specialized social media sites such as Reddit and Quora. I also operate two publications: one focused on gaming and another on video content and podcasts.
Recently, our chief editor shared a compelling article emphasizing the significance of community building on Medium. His insights encourage collaboration and empower writers to take on editorial roles. You can check out his enlightening bulletin on his secondary account.
I found his latest piece on fructose particularly relatable, as I have faced similar challenges.
A few days ago, I highlighted our monthly boosted stories, and those who missed them can now explore the curated collection. Our diligent editor, Mike Broadly, DHSc, has launched his inaugural newsletter for the Health and Science publication, which is thriving. His newsletter is quite engaging! 😊
In addition, you can find numerous interviews in the attached collection. The ILLUMINATION Curators compiled the boosted stories from May, and Mike shared an intriguing narrative that resonated with my previous discussions on ethical dilemmas within the medical field.
Mike has also written about gaming, publishing his first piece in ILLUMINATION-Gaming. It's directed towards seniors, and it's quite inspiring! Let's applaud him for this remarkable contribution—it's sure to resonate with older adults like my grandparents, who have greatly enjoyed it.
I have recently appreciated Mike's insightful articles in the health and science domain. You can explore his stories through this list.

Expanding Our Membership
Dr. Mehmet Yildiz has shared examples of his boosted stories to encourage non-members to join Medium. He advocates that other writers create similar collections with friend links to share in ILLUMINATION-Curated or other publications. Here’s his invitation:
