Chapter 1: Understanding Inertia

Have you ever contemplated how difficult it can be to stop once you've gained momentum? I firmly believe in Newton's law of inertia, which asserts that an object at rest remains at rest, while an object in motion continues its course until an external force intervenes. This principle is universally applicable. On Earth, gravity serves as the external force that decelerates moving objects, while in the vastness of space, objects persist in their motion due to the absence of gravity.

The same concept applies to human behavior. Once people initiate action, they tend to maintain that momentum. This is also evident in the animal kingdom. Consider the shark, for instance. Most sharks must keep swimming to breathe, as they rely on water flowing over their gills. If they stop swimming, they risk death. I resonate with this notion—I find it hard to remain stagnant. When I do, I experience feelings of depression and despair.

Chapter 1.1: My Current Struggles

Recently, I found myself at a standstill. I ceased pursuing the activities that propelled me toward my aspirations, pausing to allow my mind to process the recent events in my life. My last published piece was on February 5th, and since then, my engagement with others on Medium has been minimal.

Alongside relationship challenges, my health has taken a toll. I've been managing a lingering lower back injury since February 6th, an ailment I'm all too familiar with. When it flares up, it can immobilize me. While I can manage some workouts, consistency eludes me, and I've missed several leg days. Recovery seems slower this time, and my doctor has flagged my cholesterol levels as concerning, with potential heart issues looming in the next decade.

As I prepare for deployment in April, I am also contemplating retirement within the next three to five years, exploring potential locations and business ventures. The truth is, I’m overwhelmed and trying to juggle too much alone, which means it’s time to streamline my life. Prioritizing my environment and personal growth must come first. I also need to eliminate time-wasting activities that don't contribute to my progress, leading me to reconsider my involvement with Medium.

Chapter 1.2: Crafting a Plan for Change

I recognize the need for another pause, but this time, it will be with purpose. I must reflect on who I aspire to be and identify the steps to achieve that vision. This involves focusing on my physical health, returning to the gym, rehabilitating my back, and nurturing my mental well-being.

I aspire to evolve into a better man, father, and the first millionaire in my family. I wish to impart wisdom to my sons and leave a lasting legacy. Through introspection and writing, I have come to understand my aspirations more clearly. Solitude has provided me with the clarity I need.

Chapter 1.3: Taking Action

Now, I must re-enter the arena. Although I feel down, I refuse to remain there for long. This time feels different, but I am determined to rise and continue progressing. This narrative marks my return after a break—not intended for validation or recognition, but for my own benefit. I seek a small victory, a first step forward.

I’m adopting a mindset of defiance, embracing the “I don’t care” attitude. I’m ready to execute my “whatever” strategy. Life can be harsh and relentless, but it’s about how much you can endure and persist. It’s crucial to recognize your worth and pursue your goals while taking responsibility for your circumstances.
