Why Everyone Should Try Entrepreneurship at Least Once

Chapter 1: My Journey into Entrepreneurship
At the age of 29, I reflect on my career path that began in my early twenties, where I transitioned from working for large corporations to starting my own ventures.
Between the ages of 21 and 25, I was employed as a consultant at Deloitte, focusing on risk management for banks and investment funds. Following that, I joined BNP Paribas as a Real Estate Consultant, assisting foreign firms in establishing branches in Spain. After my tenure at BNP Paribas, I embarked on my first entrepreneurial journey by co-founding an audiovisual production company, which I managed for two and a half years. Subsequently, I launched Haiso Delivery Solutions, my current venture, which required me to step away from my first business due to time constraints.
These experiences have equipped me with a unique perspective compared to many of my peers. Having worked both as an entrepreneur and an employee, I want to share why I believe everyone should start their own business at least once in their lifetime.
Section 1.1: The Significance of Entrepreneurship
We often act based on societal programming, and it's crucial to be mindful of how we shape our own beliefs and decisions. Society typically conditions individuals to spend around 14 years in formal education, followed by an additional 4-5 years in high school, leading to a conventional nine-to-five job. This path usually offers a limited vacation allowance of around 21 days annually, with the hope of achieving a decent salary by the age of 40. Ultimately, most people retire in their mid-60s to receive a modest pension.
This is the reality for countless individuals worldwide.
So, what’s my perspective on this? I believe everyone should have a significant milestone to reach in their lives: the ability to reprogram their own mindset rather than accept the default settings imposed by society.
This is where entrepreneurship comes into play.
By choosing to start your own business, you are opting to break free from societal norms. You’re daring to pursue what many fear or avoid. In doing so, you challenge the conditioning you've experienced over the years.
When you launch a business, your thinking shifts dramatically. You begin to disregard traditional notions of weekdays, focusing solely on the hustle and your objectives. You understand that achieving your goals requires innovative thinking beyond conventional boundaries. This shift is vital; entrepreneurship demands continuous out-of-the-box thinking. You no longer have a safety net; your success hinges solely on your efforts.
This feeling is unparalleled. The experience of entrepreneurship cultivates a mindset that many do not possess. Regardless of the outcome, whether success or failure, the mere act of trying is a victory in itself. This is why I advocate for everyone to start a business at least once: to develop independent thinking and escape the societal conditioning ingrained in us from childhood.
