Empowering Your Finances: A Magical Approach to Money

Chapter 1: The Intersection of Money and Self-Awareness

In our quest for self-discovery, we often overlook the influence of money. However, it serves as a significant lens through which we can unlock greater abundance in other areas of our lives. Self-awareness can be a safe haven, providing stability and a launchpad for realizing our aspirations.

"I've always had a complicated relationship with money," says Jessie Susannah Karnatz, also known as the Money Witch. "And by complicated, I mean it’s been a challenge. But I am actively working to improve this aspect of my life."

This week on my podcast, Empower Your Magical Self, I was excited to welcome Jessie as my guest. Her impressive background speaks for itself—how could anyone not be captivated?

Jessie Susannah Karnatz, the Money Witch, offers a unique perspective on financial education that is both critical of capitalism and free of shame. She aims to empower healers, creatives, and entrepreneurs to transform their financial circumstances. By healing our relationship with money, she believes we can bring blessings to ourselves, our families, and our communities. Jessie provides educational resources, Money Magic products, and Intuitive Financial Coaching both online and in the Bay Area (on unceded Ohlone land), all while embodying a distinctive business style.

Additionally, Jessie leads the Money Coven, a vibrant online community where individuals can work on their financial self-care and become adept stewards of their resources.

Section 1.1: The Essence of Money Magic

JSK’s book, Money Magic, stands out as the only finance-themed book that resonates with me. Unlike other financial literature, it doesn’t leave me feeling inadequate, and I’m thankful to the Money Witch for that transformative experience.

The third episode of Empower Your Magical Self will debut at midnight, Colorado time. My guest will be Jessie...

Chapter 2: Defining Magic in Financial Contexts

During our discussion, I asked JSK how she defines magic. Here’s her response, refined for clarity:

“Magic is about taking ownership of your power as an energetic being and using that awareness deliberately. It involves recognizing that if I am an energetic entity, I must accept both my strength and any aspects of myself that may resist that strength.

Ultimately, accepting my own power comes with responsibilities—not just to myself but also to the greater community. Magic, to me, is about taking charge of my power and using it thoughtfully. Furthermore, recognizing that all entities possess energetic power allows us to forge alliances with them to support our intentions.

In essence, it’s about setting my intention, channeling my energy toward that intention, and perhaps seeking the support of a crystal, plant, animal, deity, or even a family member to align our energies together. That, for me, encapsulates the essence of magic.”
