Embracing the Journey of a Messy Launch: My Newsletter Insights

Chapter 1: The Importance of Building an Email List
In today's digital landscape, marketing experts emphasize the necessity of cultivating an email list. Social media followers are fleeting; platforms like TikTok can vanish overnight, leaving you without a means to connect with your audience. As I navigate the development of my email newsletter, I wanted to share my latest thoughts here for those interested in joining me on this adventure.
Hello, my fellow seekers of fulfillment!
My experience doesn't lie in marketing, and I often feel uneasy about selling. Yet, to thrive in the online realm, some marketing is essential. This newsletter represents my ongoing journey, where I express my thoughts, share my writings, and discuss what I'm learning and creating. My inconsistency stems from not having a defined purpose yet—I want to explore everything, much like my creative endeavors.
Instead of striving for the perfect product or course, I'm choosing to launch various ideas and iterate based on feedback. My current focus is on embracing the "messy launch" concept: create, launch, gather insights, refine, promote, and repeat.
I aim for this newsletter to be a valuable resource for you while simultaneously documenting my entrepreneurial journey in real-time.
So, I'm curious: How did you discover this newsletter? Are we friends in the real world? What do you hope to gain as a subscriber?
Chapter 3: Tools and Ideas in Progress
I'm also experimenting with several platforms:
- Midjourney: This incredible tool allows for the creation of AI-generated images. Currently, I’m using it to develop coloring pages for friends and to test designs for print-on-demand products.
- Systeme.io: A comprehensive platform that combines funnel building, blogging, and course creation. Although I've opted for Memberpress for my website, I'm pursuing a certification in Systeme to evaluate its potential as a marketing tool.
Ideas are swirling in my mind. I've been contemplating creating an online course for over a year now. I started one but struggled to complete it. Perhaps launching a live training session could provide the feedback I need, allowing me to reconnect with teaching and discover what resonates with my audience. Offering it for free could enable me to refine the content before recording a webinar for my site.
Additionally, I have several book ideas that I believe could be impactful. Prioritizing which project to tackle first is a challenge, especially as I feel stretched creatively and cognitively.
Finally, leveraging my background as an educator, I've recently spoken with two college graduates about their plans to work abroad. As someone who embraced travel later in life, I’m passionate about encouraging others to explore the world early on. I'm brainstorming ways to spread this message.
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I’ll strive to provide more consistent updates as you’ve signed up for a glimpse into my thoughts.
Until next time, keep learning and growing!
