Each month, I commit to setting personal goals, striving to exceed them by month-end.

Throughout my life, I’ve avoided aiming for lofty heights right from the beginning. I’m not a natural prodigy who achieves everything in record time. Yet, I still hold myself to certain expectations and objectives. Initially, I mistakenly believed I was being realistic and measured in my ambitions, but I often let external factors sway my mindset.
My approach lacked true patience and calculation.
On days filled with positivity, I felt invincible, dreaming of grand aspirations. However, just a couple of challenging days could bring me down, making me feel as if I was scraping the bottom. I recognized how irrational that was, and often I wondered if I was overreacting, but those feelings proved difficult to shake off.
Fortunately, there’s an innate resilience within me that tends to stabilize my emotions. I either experience minimal fluctuations or, if I do feel intensely, those feelings dissipate rapidly. Eventually, I grew weary of this emotional rollercoaster and decided to detach from my frustrations and fears of failure.
I realized that I possessed the capability to navigate these ups and downs, as evidenced by various experiences, though I was still learning to harness it effectively.
Thus, I accepted the challenge of addressing my emotional spikes from the outset, while simultaneously playing the long game. Whenever I encountered positive moments, I remained alert, understanding that challenges were inevitable and preparing myself accordingly.
And indeed, those challenges arrived. However, I faced them with confidence, reassured that brighter days would follow. Gradually, I cultivated my resilience, allowing the experiences I gathered to diminish my fear of emotional swings.
While I never considered myself timid, some battles are more difficult than others. Once I learned to manage my emotions, I could access the more calculated side of myself that I had only pretended to possess.
I began establishing attainable goals that were simple to achieve and easy to surpass. Each time I exceeded my expectations, I felt a mix of joy and motivation to push beyond them. I shifted my focus to incremental progress rather than instant success, allowing me to explore new avenues alongside my main objectives.
This journey also led me to platforms like Medium, where I gained further experience and confidence. The beginning stages can be tough, but overcoming setbacks ultimately makes you more resilient and adept at navigating life.
Life is rich with lessons; we simply need to lift our heads and take a closer look at both our internal landscape and the world around us.
