He is particularly recognized for his role in developing the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system, a groundbreaking innovation that he patented and licensed to Westinghouse Electric in 1888. This invention served as the cornerstone for today's electrical infrastructure, facilitating the effective transmission of electricity over long distances. In addition to AC power, Tesla's inventive genius led to the creation of numerous significant devices, including the three-phase power transmission system, the induction motor, and the Tesla coil, many of which are still utilized in modern technology.
